I qualified at Level 4 Diploma in the Practice and Theory of Counselling.

I have also obtained my Transactional Analysis '101' Certificate with the Institute of Transactional Analysis (ITA).

I attended courses and have experience working in the field of addiction (having specialised in this area during training) and I worked at an agency offering counselling for people in treatment for drug and alcohol abuse.

I have two years clinical experience as a counsellor for the NHS in the Occupational Health Departments of a large teaching hospital (Wythenshawe) and a district general (Trafford) - where I have counselled many staff with a wide variety of distressing issues and helped them to successfully move forward.

I am committed to Continuing Professional (and personal) Development (CPD) as recommended by the Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) of which I am a member. This includes attending various workshops e.g. ‘Emotional Resilience’ (stress management), CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Attachment Theory, Trauma and further training on a regular basis.

I am also a member of the Association for Independent Practioners (AIP), the Association for Pastoral and Spiritural Care and Counselling (APSCC) and BACP Healthcare.

I have regular supervision for my practice, professional indemnity and public liability insurance and clear CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks.
